Cali... So Far

I have been out here in Cali for over a week now and I can tell you that it feels really good to be out here.

I am VERY happy to be out of my parents house and I am adjusting to the laid back lifestyle that California has to offer. My roommates are really cool. From all over the USA and pretty much in the same boat I am, just trying to be a ball player.

The Harvard Guys, pictured left, who I have posted about, remind me of my roomates that I have now. We were up early to watch the early NFL games. We have Direct TV and got NFL Ticket so we can watch all kinds of football games. As you know, I am a big Giants fan and were able to watch the Giants come back and win the game.

Another part of group living is using the bathroom. I share a house with 6 guys. We have 2 bathrooms. Since we all shower after practice and games together, it's no big deal to be in the bathroom with eachother at the same time. After a heavy night of drinking, I woke up to go use the shower the 2nd day I was here. I walked in on my roommate shaving (his face) and appologized and started to close the door. He yelled back, "Brah, you can take a shower. I don't give a fuck." So I went in... turned on the shower and hopped in. I got so used to having my own shower at my parents house that I was spoiled with having my own time in there. While I was showering, and he was shaving, another roomate came in and started pissing. 3 of us in one bathroom. No big deal. I really think I am going to like team living.

Not like "The O.C."

California is different than what I expected. I have had some free time today, and time away from being with the guys so I have been able to actualy take my notes and bring them out on the blog.

I have been to Cali before and this time it is different. It is so laid back, more so than the NY area. It's no nice and refreshing. I feel more alive. I am starting a new track in my life and just think that I will be able to do a lot better and so more things then what I was doing in NY. Granted I was trying to get to where I am now, and It is GREAT! I don't know, all the frustration of moving and dealing with everything associated with it is a lot.

September 11th really took a lot out of me. Knowing guys that worked at Ground Zero and not being able to be in the NY area is hard. For those who do live in the NYC area, it's so different. We were effected so much more than the rest of the country. Nothing against those in Washington DC area, but the WTC disaster hurt New Yorkers and those who live in the Tri-State area.

Anyway, enjoy that view I left up there. Start e-mailing me again and I should be getting some locker room stories up soon.Haven't had anything really eventfull happen, plus I haven't seen much.

California...Here I am

I want to thank JP for all 4 posts he made (kind of sarcastic but I love you bro)

I am now all moved into an apartment/house which is an awesome place. I share it with guys from my new team. Most of the guys have been trickling in since August and I have a room all to myself. The guys are cool. We have been practicing and hanging out here. The weather has been awesome and I am getting used to seeing SUNSETS on the ocean. I used to go and watch the sunrise (after drnking alot) and now I get to go drink a lot and watch it set and do some more drinking.

I know what some of you are thinking, LET THE ORGIES BEGIN! But it is nothing like that. Well, sortof. These guys know how to party. We go out, hit on girls, most of them bring them home and bang them. It's funny because this one guy will bang any girl. He will settle on an ugly girl and just make her scream. We sit outside and listen to him and he just bangs the shit out of her. It's a very immature atmosphere (like college) and I am happier now than living with my parents. PLUS I am out playing again and have that sence of being with a team again.

BUT with all of that comes the feeling of being threatened of being outed. And trying to find a way to "get off" I need to start getting creative again. Anyway, here are some pictures that I have found that just describe a lot of what I am feeling and what I have been going through the past few days I have been here.

I asked JP to write some football stuff for me. That should be coming. He has had a lot going on in his life and I hope he is feeling better. To everyone I have NOT been able to talk to (Bob, where have you been I miss your talks) I am sorry. I was really good at keeping up with e-mails and comments but I haven't been able to keep up with everything going on. I know you guys forgive me and I hope all of you keep coming back and reading. It should get interesting to say the least.

Guest

So here is the deal. My buddy is all for making a few posts to the blog while I am moving and getting settled. Go easy on him. He is really cool. I asked him to write a "Hello my name is..." post for here.

I like this new Beta version of Blogger. I can do a BUNCH of stuff I have been trying to do when I was using that "old" template that kept crashing an never working right. Even some of my old posts are messing with this template. Whatever...

I am off to pack up a bunch of shit. Before I leave for Cali is there anything I should do?

Oh yeah.. My links section got all fucked up and I lost a bunch of my links. If I linked to you, hit me back up so I can throw it back up there. I am not being a dick and not reading your blog, I just don't know what happened.

Moving....

In my last post I talked about a guest poster here for football season. I talked about how I may need one for a little bit because I will be "away" for a little bit. Some of you that I chat with on AIM and Yahoo know that I am moving but I never wrote anything on my blog about it.

Yeah, I am moving. I am heading from the NY Metro Area to Southern California. I have been training hardcore for this move, which is why I have not been around. I started this blog in 2005 and barely had time to update it until I did have a LOT of free time. I then became addicted to posting. Since then, I have been training with a trainer and doing a lot of work in a batting cage and on the field thanks to my pops and some old high school buddies.

I will be updating the blog while I am in California. Where in Cali am I moving... Southern Cali (SoCal). I guess you guys on the Left Coast should start getting ready for my arrival. I will be gone in September from the East (Right) Coast.

I have been living with my parents and it will be good to get out of their hair and into an apartment with guys that also play baseball out there. It is going to be crazy like college again. I will also have a chance to have some new experiences and new stories to share on the blog. When my buddy does accept the role of posting some entries, for a short period of time, go easy on him. He doesn't blog and wants to keep all of you interested. Don't leave the blog, it's not dead, I am not replacing what I am doing here, I just know that I will be VERY busy when I get out there and know that I can't keep up with the demands that this blog has brought.

I am ver excited at this chance and never thought this blog would GROW the way it has. I have been in contact with some AWESOME guys who are just like me and I know that I have at least been able to shed some light into being a gay athlete in America. Moving to California and continuing my career in Baseball will bring new stories for me to write about and will let me meet new people.

You will all be able to meet my buddy (I won't use his name yet because he hasn't said yes, I am begging here... LoL) who has had pretty much the same experiences growing up but only from a football and "frat boy" perspective.

I am not shutting down the blog... don't panic. I am simply starting a new chapter in my life. A chapter that will lead to new stories, experience and friends.

Thanks to all of you here on the East coast who read and contact me everyday. You guys help me through a lot and let me vent about everything and anything that I need to get off my chest. I thank everyone else around the world for the same stuff.

Okay, I am rambling here now. I am off to the gym and then should be back to make another post.
