great night out

So it happened. I went out to a bar (straight of course) and found myself just gawking at the guys there. It’s hard. I was out with a few guys getting beers at a local bar. It’s a big college dive bar. The kind where you can catch a game and have drunk college girls falling all over the place. Most of my friends go to these bars regularly because they know they can get any girl in there. “Yea, I play baseball” Girls just seem to cream over that shit.

So, we are in the bar. Having a really good time shooting shit and just being the dumb asses we are. They had a special 180 and Vodka’s for $3. If you have never had one, go out and have one. Helps you stay up late and gets you wrecked. So, after I’d say 3 of these my buddies start looking for their latest girl to bring home and I make eyes at a guy. Now this place is the straightest of places and I notice this really cute guy standing with a bunch of girls. I have my mental checklist going in my head. He’s chatting it up with them but not clinging to any certain one there. I’m a good looking guy, so I walk by and try to get his attention pretending to find one of my buddies. I pass by where he was sitting and saw him look at me out of the corner of my eye. Jackpot!

I stand at the edge of the bar and try to look lonely ( I was lonely) On his way back from the bathroom he stops to grab a drink and I engage in casual conversation. His name is Alex and he is a senior at the in town college. Very cool guy. You could not tell that he was gay at all. We talked the entire night and at last call he invited me back to the house he lived in for the after party. My buddies brought their girls with them and I ended up staying the night. Very happy about this.

I haven’t told him that I play “professional baseball” yet. Just say I like playing baseball and work in Real Estate (I know lame, huh) I never know what to say or if its gunna come out at all. Is anyone else out there reading? Leave comments, questions, anything. I feel like I have no clue what to say on here.

I found this picture online and think its just awesome. It's a digital pic done by a friends friend at college. Just thought it reflected the way I have been feeling the past few weeks and wanted to post it for all to see! Enjoy!

For all 8 of you that read my two posts, Thank You. It has been a hectic few months for me with playing ball and now that I am in the off season I finally remembered that I had this thing to “vent”. I had a lot of time to reflect on what this season brought me and where I will be going from here. At this point I have no clue where I am going and what is going on in my “career”.

thoughtful idiot linked my blog to his and I would like to thank him for that. I’ve been bored and lazy lately and decided it’s about time I did something constructive with my days besides work out and go out with friends. (That wasn’t meant to me a poor me comment like Tom Brady complaining that after his 3 Super Bowl Rings, 2 MVP’s and having a body any Chelsea boy would drool over, he’s left to ponder if he can do anything else in life.) Ok, nice rant… moving on.

I am home now in the Northeast and enjoying the weather. After the season was over I decided to go and stay with my buddy Ryan in New Jersey. We definitely had a good time going out, hitting New York City and working out at a sports facility that specializes in “professional athletes”. I consider myself far from professional, but apparently I am. Now I am hanging out at my Parents house through the holidays and then I head to a winter league (maybe) I wanted to write this “welcome back post” before writing some reflections about the season and everything else that happened to me since the last post. So Welcome back, tell your friends and know I will be checking this often.
